Convenor Shaheen Parveen jointly said that every year 17 July is celebrated all over the world as International Justice Day or International Criminal Justice Day. International Justice Day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Treaty of Rome on 17 July 1998. The treaty that established the International Criminal Court. 120 nations adopted a law in Rome. It was known as the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, in which all countries agreed to adopt a law that included the jurisdiction of the ICC.
International Justice Day is celebrated to make people aware and unite in support of justice. Its main objective is to make victims aware of their rights.
