A lively mega final cricket match was organized by Maulana Bhashani Sporting Club in Jazeera, Shariatpur. The final game held at the local ground on Friday evening was witnessed with great enthusiasm and excitement among the players and spectators. Sports lovers of the area thronged the ground to enjoy the game.
Jajira United XI and Shahi Masjid Sporting Club faced each other in the final game. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Jazeera United XI set a target of 73 runs in the allotted overs. Batting with a target of 74 runs to win, Shahi Masjid Sporting Club faced some pressure at the beginning, but gradually took control of the match.
Shahi Masjid Junior XI reached the target with 4 wickets in hand due to the patience and determination of the team’s batsmen. In this, they achieved the glory of becoming champions. The champion team was led by Md. Imran Hossain.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jajira Police Station Md. Saleh Ahmed was present to enjoy the game. After the game, he handed over trophies and prizes to the champion team Shahi Masjid Sporting Club and the runner-up team Jajira United XI.
Local sports enthusiasts and dignitaries of the area were also present at the time. The organizers said that such sports events will play an important role in increasing the interest of the youth in sports and keeping them away from drugs and crime. They expressed their hope to continue such events in the future.
