A public awareness meeting on beat policing and exchange of views was held at the premises of Dhoil Secondary School, Mohammadpur Upazila, Magura District, on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 11 am by Mohammadpur Police Station.

Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman, In-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, was present as the chief guest at the event. Political and local important figures were also present. Local common people also spontaneously joined the event and raised various complaints.

Keeping in mind the slogan ‘Beat policing from house to house, build a safe society’, public awareness meeting on beat policing will be held in every area of ​​Mohammadpur with the aim of building a society free from drugs, gambling, eve-teasing, women’s abuse, child marriage, obscenity, terrorism and militancy.

The chief guest said in his speech, “I have declared war on gambling and drugs by joining Mohammadpur Police Station. No one will be involved in drugs in any way, be it a policeman, a politician or anyone else, if anyone is involved in drugs, they will have to pay an extreme price. There are many of you here like my mother, sister and daughter, the role of an educated mother is essential in building an educated nation. Therefore, mothers and sisters must be aware of child marriage, a universal problem of society.

He also said, but a daughter is not a burden for anyone. She is the wealth of the country. You should not be confused and study for a certain period of time and become educated and make yourself the leader of the economy. I believe that one day Bangladesh will reach the peak of development with your help. Our organization aims to bring policing services to the people, make service activities dynamic and effective, and increase marginal public engagement with the police.

He called for the help of Bit Policing to quickly get information and cooperation regarding any type of crime.

He urged people to call the national emergency service 999 or the district police hotline number to report the incident.

He also said, “You are the police of a free country. You are not the police of foreign exploiters, you are the police of the people. Your duty is to serve the people, love the people, and help the people in times of trouble.”
