The Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo today organized a seminar titled ‘Bangladesh-Japan: A Highly Potential Source of Skilled Human Resources’ and a matching event later at an auditorium in Nagoya, Japan. Bangladesh Embassy officials were present at the seminar.
Dr. Neyamat Ulya Bhuiyan, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, was present as the chief guest at the seminar organized in collaboration with the Japan International Trainee and Skilled Worker Cooperation Organization (JITCO).
Around 250 manpower exporting companies and recruitment agencies participated in the seminar. Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md. Daud Ali, in his welcome speech, assured all kinds of support from the embassy in sending skilled manpower to Japan.
Senior Secretary Dr. In his speech, Dr. Neamat Ullah Bhuiyan presented a statistical comparison of the human resource situation of Japan and Bangladesh. He mentioned that Japan will need about 11 million foreign workers by 2040, while Bangladesh currently has an additional 25 million working population – a trend that will continue until 2040. He expressed his determination to take all possible steps to fill the manpower shortage of 11 million in Japan by 2040.
The Senior Secretary said that 33 Technical Training Centers (TTCs) have been identified in Bangladesh to prepare workers according to the needs of the Japanese labor market and this number will be increased if necessary. He also informed about the formation of a ‘Japan Cell’ in the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare, which will act as a coordination and communication center for the Japanese labor market. Dr. Neamat Ullah Bhuiyan expressed the hope that both countries will benefit from the coordinated efforts of the recruiting agencies of Bangladesh and Japan.
Shigeo Matsutomi, Senior Vice President of JITCO, presented a PowerPoint presentation on the international labor market situation and the prospects of the Japanese labor market.
Later, 4 MoUs/Agreements were signed between Bangladeshi manpower sending and Japanese recruiting agencies.
