On Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 10 am, Digha Union No. 3, Mohammadpur Upazila, Magura District, organized a Quran Khatam and Doa Mahfil for the forgiveness of the soul of the late Begum Khaleda Zia. In addition, the Quran Khatam and Doa Mahfil were held in the presence of teachers and students of the local madrasa.

The chairman and all members of Digha Union were present at the prayer program. Local dignitaries and the public were also present. Everyone prayed to Allah Almighty for the forgiveness of the soul of the late Begum Khaleda Zia.

The day of the people of Digha began with a heavy heart after the news of the death of Begum Khaleda Zia. Begum Zia is now the topic of discussion everywhere in Magura Mohammadpur. Especially, her courageous statements and uncompromising and combative role at various times, which were at the risk of her life, were discussed repeatedly.

According to the statement of the panel chairman of Digha Union, the locals are deeply saddened by the death of the late Begum Khaleda Zia. In continuation of that, the Digha Union Parishad organized a Quran recitation for the late Begum Khaleda Zia with the participation of madrasa students. Finally, prayers were offered for the late Khaleda Zia.
