Satyagraha Research Foundation, Mother Tahira Charitable Trust and various social organizations organized Grand programme on the 209th Anniversary of the Historical Sugauli Treaty Ratification.

Bettiah. A grand programming was organized on the 209th Anniversary of the historic Sugauli Treaty ratification in the Satyagraha Bhawan Auditorium of the Satyagraha Research Foundation. In which tribute was paid to the brave soldiers and heroes who were Martyred in the Indo-Nepal war for about 2 years from 1814 to 1815, who sacrificed their lives while protecting the Motherland. On this occasion, International Peace Ambassador and Co-Secretary General of Satyagraha Research Foundation, Dr. Ajaz Ahmad (Advocate), Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, Founder of Mother Tahira Charitable Trust, Dr. Amanul Haque, Dr. Mehbob ur Rahman, Dr. Shahnawaz Ali, Dr. Amit Kumar Lohia jointly said that on this day, 2010 years ago, after a two-year struggle between India and Nepal, the historic Sugauli Treaty was signed at Sugauli in Champaran by Rajguru Gajraj Mishra on behalf of Nepal and Lieutenant Colonel Paris Bradshaw on behalf of India on 2 December 1815. It received legal recognition on 4 March 1816. The Sugauli Treaty further strengthened the relations that had been going on between India and Nepal for thousands of years. On this occasion, Convener of West Champaran Kala Manch, Shaheen Parveen, Dr. Shahnawaz Ali, Dr. Amit Kumar Lohia said that there is a need to further strengthen India-Nepal relations so that the society between the two countries can be freed from social evils like child marriage, cross-border human trafficking, drug trafficking, hunger, poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy and disease so that happiness, peace, prosperity and development can come to South Asia and these countries of South Asia can become developed nations.
