On the 162nd death Anniversary of the great hero of the first freedom struggle of india1857, the great freedom fighters, the last Mughal Empire of India, Bahadur Shah Zafar II (Mirza Abu Zafar Sirajuddin Muhammad Bahadur Shah Zafar), Satyagraha Research Foundation Mother Tahira Charitable Trust and various social organizations organized an inter-faith prayer meeting. Today, on 7 November 2024, an inter-faith prayer meeting was organized in the auditorium of Satyagraha Research Foundation, Satyagraha Bhavan. On this occasion, International Peace Ambassador cum Secretary General Satyagraha Research Foundation Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Advocate, Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal Chancellor Pragyan International University Jharkhand, Senior Journalist cum Founder Mother Tahira Charitable Trust Dr. Amanul Haque, Dr. Shahnawaz Ali, Dr. Amit Kumar Lohia Social Activist Navindu Chaturvedi, West Champaran Kala Manch Convenor Shaheen Parveen jointly paid tribute and said that on this day, the great freedom fighter Bahadur Shah Zafar, the hero of the First War of Independence of 1857, died. His entire life was dedicated to India, Hindu Muslim unity, integrity, sovereignty and independence of India. He died at 5 am on 7 November 1862. Syed Mehndi Hasan writes in his book ‘Bahadur Shah Zafar and the War of 1857 in Daily’ that according to Bahadur Shah’s employee Ahmed Beg, he was unwell since 26 October 1862 and he was hardly able to eat food. “Day by day his health deteriorated and on 2 November his condition became very bad. On 3 November the doctor who came to see him told that the condition of his throat was very bad and it was becoming difficult for him to swallow even his saliva.”.

Syed Mehndi Hasan writes that on 6 November the doctor told that he was continuously becoming weak. He died on 7 November 1862. When he died he was in Rangoon, away from India, under the captivity of the British.

“The grave of Bahadur Shah Zafar was made behind the house in Rangoon where he was kept captive and after burying him the ground of the grave was leveled.On this occasion, the speakers said that India is celebrating the 75th Republic Day. It was Bahadur Shah Zafar’s last wish that his grave should be in the capital of India, Delhi. He had also earmarked a place for that. During his visit to Rangoon, the great freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose had pledged on Bahadur Shah Zafar’s grave that after India’s independence, Bahadur Shah Zafar would be buried in Delhi again. On this occasion, the speakers demanded from the Government that Bahadur Shah Zafar should be buried in Delhi again from Rangoon. So that the dreams of India’s great freedom fighter Bahadur Shah Zafar and the great freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose could be realised.
