Remember that the land of Bettiah West Champaran is green with forests. 21st March is celebrated every year as International Day of Forests, to create awareness about the declining condition of forests across the world and the increasing need to save forests as it is the lifeline of our ecosystem. On November 28, 2012, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution to celebrate it as the 23rd International Day of Forests. The motive behind creating a world forest is to make people aware about the decreasing forest cover, the impact of forest degradation, and last but not the least the forest is the backbone of the ecosystem. Since 2012, every year the annual event has a theme that is related to creating awareness or steps that need to be taken to prevent the degradation of our forests such as tree plantation drive.
