Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, “The same rules cannot always be followed. If you want to change the country, you have to change the way it is run. In this, the youth can play a big role.” He said this at the BIMSTEC Young Gen Forum in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday (April 3) afternoon.

At the beginning of his speech, the Chief Advisor described his experience with Grameen Bank. He said, “It is not enough to do business just for profit. We have to work to change the society. We have to bring balance to the resources. At the same time, we have to think about the environment. Bangladesh is a very big place, but in comparison, our scope is small. We have the desire to work on a small scale.”

He further said, “Profit is okay in business. But if greed comes into the mind of an entrepreneur, that business is bound to be destroyed. The youth are the future of the future, I find inspiration in them.” After his speech, Dr. Muhammad Yunus answered various questions from the youth.

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus left for Thailand on Thursday to attend the BIMSTEC summit. He arrived in the country around 12 noon local time on Thursday.

On the sidelines of this conference, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to meet the Chief Advisor tomorrow, Friday (April 4). On the last day of the conference, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will take charge as the next Chairman of BIMSTEC for the next two years.
