One Scout Leader and two Scout members from Government Jajira Mohar Ali Model High School in Jajira Upazila, Shariatpur, are set to participate in the 3rd Muslim Scout Fellowship International Jamboree in London, United Kingdom.

A Bangladesh Scouts contingent will depart for the United Kingdom at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 22 July. The Jamboree will be held from 23 to 26 July 2026 at the historic Gilwell Park in London.

Bangladesh will be represented by an official Scout contingent led by Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, Treasurer of Bangladesh Scouts, who will serve as the Head of Contingent. The delegation also includes 12 adult leaders and 19 Scouts. More than 22 countries are expected to participate in the 3rd Muslim Scout Fellowship International Jamboree.

Representing the Government Jajira Mohar Ali Model High School Scout Group are Unit Leader Shahidul Islam and Scout members Tahsin Ahmed Luban and Samia Khan.

Unit Leader Shahidul Islam has successfully participated in numerous Scout camps at the institutional, upazila, district, national, and international levels. He currently serves as the District Scout Leader of Bangladesh Scouts, Shariatpur District. In 2003, he received the prestigious President’s Scout Award, the highest award in the Scout section of Bangladesh Scouts. He is also serving as an Assistant Leader Trainer, contributing to the expansion and development of Scouting across the country.

The Jamboree will provide participants from around the world with opportunities to engage in camping, Scouting activities, leadership and skills development, and international friendship. Held at the historic birthplace of Scouting, Gilwell Park, the event aims to strengthen brotherhood, cooperation, and mutual understanding among Scouts from different nations.

Since 2005, the Muslim Scout Fellowship has been organizing summer camps across the United Kingdom for young people. These camps are designed to promote personal development, teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility. To ensure wider participation, the camps are held in both the northern and southern regions of the UK.

Over the years, these camps have grown significantly in popularity. Today, approximately 3,000 young people participate annually in the northern and southern camps combined. Each camp features sports, training workshops, outdoor adventures, and a variety of educational and recreational activities that help develop confident, skilled, and responsible young leaders.

Expressing his excitement, Unit Leader Shahidul Islam said, “I am proud to have the opportunity to participate in such an international camp. This journey will greatly broaden our experience and knowledge while allowing us to learn from Scouts from different countries.”

Sanjib Chandra Karmakar, Commissioner of Shariatpur District Scouts, remarked, “Participation in this international Jamboree will further enrich their Scouting experience and inspire more young people to become involved in Scouting.”
