Magura district Mohammadpur Upazila Rokeya Day was celebrated with the theme “Let’s unite to stop violence against women and girls and ensure digital security”. On Tuesday (December 9) at 11 am, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad Mini Hallroom organized by the Upazila Administration and Women’s Affairs Officer’s Office.
Mohammadpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Muh. Shahnur Zaman presided over the reception of 5 indomitable women. Upazila Statistics Officer Md. Abdullah Al Mamun moderated the welcome speech and Upazila Women Affairs Officer Md. Tahmina Afroz delivered the welcome speech. Among others, the speakers included district BNP member and Muktijoddha Command convener Bir Muktijoddha Principal Md. Matiur Rahman, Upazila Jamaat Amir Awlana Mohammad Nur Mohammad, Press Club Mohammadpur President Md. Azizur Rahman Tutul, Kazi Salima Haque Women’s College (acting) Principal S. M. Yunus Ali, former T&T officer and social worker Md. Ziaul Haque Bachchu, Dhowail Secondary School Headmaster Md. Rafiqul Islam, Upazila Parishad’s former Women Vice Chairman Md. Reshma Khatun, Academic Supervisor Pranab Kumar Poddar, Information Service Officer Emilia Zaman Setu, Upazila Fisheries Officer (acting) Ferdousi. Akhter etc.
After the discussion, awards were distributed among 5 indomitable women. They are, Bilta Rani Biswas of Ruijani village of Mohammadpur Union as a woman who has achieved financial success, Mosha Lipi Khatun of Raipur village of Babukhali Union as a woman who has achieved success in education and employment, Sultana Roufunnahar of Gopalnagar village of Mohammadpur Union for playing an outstanding role in social development, Mosha Rikta Parveen of Bethulia village of Binodpur Union as a woman who has won the struggle for life by erasing the nightmare of oppression, and Mosha Anjuman Ara Begum of Choubaria village of Binodpur Union as a successful mother. The five winners in five categories were felicitated and their eyes were filled with joy.
