Three accused have agreed to give their confessional statements in the case filed over the death of Jagannath University (JnU) student and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Jobayed Hossen.

They are the victim’s student Barjis Shabnam Barsha, 19; her boyfriend Mahir Rahman, 19; and Mahir’s friend Fardin Ahmed Aylan, 20.

A sub-inspector working at the court said the investigation officer filed three separate applications with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s (CMM) Court to record their confessional statements after the trio expressed willingness to do so.

“Barsha, Mahir, and Aylan were escorted to the CMM Court around 2:40pm and kept inside the court lockup,” Md Jahidul Islam, in-charge of the lockup, told The Daily Star.
