The tree growers in the rural areas are now spending their time taking care of the date trees. When the golden glow of ripe rice spreads the message of Navanna in the cool autumn air, the preparations for the arrival of winter have begun. Local conscious people say that date trees provide shade and oxygen on the one hand, and on the other hand, their juice and molasses breathe life into the rural economy. Therefore, it is important to take initiatives now to protect this endangered tradition.

In this regard, the Upazila Agriculture Officer said
“While collecting date juice, the pots must be covered with a net. This prevents contact with bats or other animals, so the juice remains pure and safe.”

It is also an integral part of the Bengali winter tradition.  Therefore, local administration and agricultural officials have called for preserving this tradition by ensuring purity and safety.  Also, Manikganj “Folk music and Hazari Jhur, the melody of Manikganj’s life”
There was a skilled worker named Minhaj Uddin Hazari in the village of Jhitka in the district. As a result of skill, hard work and tireless work, he invented delicious fragrant jhur. This jhur is named Hazari Jhur after his name. The scope of Hazari Jhur, which is incomparable in terms of its tempting taste and captivating aroma, is still appreciated worldwide.
The main feature of the famous Hazari Jhur is that when it is crushed with two hands and blown, it flies in the wind like a feather. This tradition is not of one or two days; it is almost two hundred years old. This jhur was also gifted to Queen Elizabeth of England. It is said that Queen Elizabeth tasted the taste of this jhur and praised it highly. Even people of different classes and professions in at least 20 countries of the world are eager to taste this jhur and give it high praise. So when the winter season comes  Manikganj has become an industry due to Hazari Jaggery.
