A motorcyclist was killed in a covered van hit by a covered van in Naria, Shariatpur.

The accident occurred in front of the Livestock Department in the Baishakhipara area of ​​Naria Municipality at around 7:30 am on Thursday (January 2).

The deceased, Ershad Khan (35), is a resident of Dakshin Naria area of ​​Naria Upazila. He is the son of Mecher Ali Khan and is a businessman by profession.

According to police and local sources, Ershad Khan left his house on a motorcycle for his shop in Naria Bazar at around 7:20 am. On the way, a covered van coming from the same direction on the paved road in front of the Livestock Office in Baishakhipara hit his motorcycle from behind while overtaking. He fell on the road and was crushed by the rear wheel of the covered van, killing him on the spot.

After the incident, the police seized the covered van and took it to the police station. The driver involved in the accident has been arrested.

Naria Police Station said that a post-mortem report has been prepared on the deceased’s body. Legal action is under process in this incident.
