Joint forces raid in Naria, 3 arrested along with 95 cocktails and weapons

 

Joint forces raid in Naria, Shariatpur, arrested three terrorists along with a large quantity of explosives and indigenous weapons.

The raid was conducted in the early hours of Monday (February 2) in Puragacha Bepari Kandi village of Moktarchar Union of the upazila. A total of 95 fresh cocktails were recovered from 12 buckets in the raid.

Based on a secret tip-off, a team of joint forces led by Naria Army Camp Commander Major Ananya Chandra Shekhar conducted this breathtaking raid from 1:55 am to 5:30 am. First, 4 buckets of cocktails were found after searching the house of Nasir Uddin Bachchu Piyada, a resident of Puragacha Bepari Kandi village of Moktarchar Union. Later, based on the information provided by the arrested Bachchu Piada, 4 buckets of cocktails were recovered from a nearby mosque and 4 more buckets from another house next to it.

A total of 95 fresh cocktails, 8 shields (teta) and 3 ramdas kept in 12 buckets were recovered during the operation. It is believed that these weapons and explosives were stored for the purpose of some major sabotage.

All the arrested are residents of Puragachha Bepari Kandi village. 1. Md. Nasir Uddin Bachchu Piada (55), father- deceased Gani Piada. 2. Md. Mehedi Hasan Piada (30), father- Khalil Piada. 3. Roni (25), father- Khalil Piada.

After the operation, the recovered cocktails, domestic weapons and the three arrested accused were handed over to Naria Police Station. Preparations are underway to file a case under the relevant law in this incident.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naria Police Station Md. Bahar Mia said, “As soon as the information was received, the police and the army went to the spot and recovered cocktails and local weapons. It is believed that these weapons and explosives were stored for the purpose of a major sabotage. Preparations are underway to file a case under the relevant law.

Although the recovery of a large amount of explosives created a sensation in the area, the situation is currently under control. Army and police sources said that joint force patrols have been strengthened to maintain law and order in the area.
