
Gandhian Thoughts Department should be established in All the Schools and Universities of the Country. 108 years ago in 1917, Kasturba Gandhi along with Mahatma Gandhi Started public Awareness Campaign for Cleanliness, Clean environment, environmental protection, Abolition of Child Marriage and freedom from Various Social Evils on the land of Bettiah West Champaran.
A pledge was taken for Cleanliness, Clean environment, environmental protection, prevention of Climate change, boycott of Single-use plastic, Abolition of Child Marriage and freedom from Various Social Evils. A two-day workshop organized by Satyagraha Research Foundation, Mother Tahira Charitable Trust and Various Social organizations on the 156th birth Anniversary of great freedom fighter Kasturba Gandhi Concluded.
Today, on 11 April 2025, A Grand programme was organized in the Auditorium of Satyagraha Research Foundation, Satyagraha Bhawan, on the 156th birth Anniversary of Kasturba Gandhi. In which representatives of various social organizations and intellectuals participated. On this occasion, first of all tribute was paid to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba Gandhi, immortal Martyrs and freedom fighters. On this occasion, International Peace Ambassador cum Secretary General Satyagraha Research Foundation Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Advocate, Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal, Senior Journalist cum Founder Mother Tahira Charitable Trust Dr. Amanul Haque, Dr. Amit Kumar Lohia, Dr. Shahnawaz Ali, Convenor of West Champaran Kala Manch Shaheen Parveen, Director of Mother Tahira Charitable Welfare Trust S Saba jointly said that Kasturba Gandhi was born on 11 April 1869, 156 years ago. Her entire life was dedicated to social awakening and independence of the country. In 1917, Kasturba Gandhi started a public awareness campaign in Bettiah, West Champaran to create awareness in society about cleanliness, clean environment, environmental protection, prevention of child marriage and various social evils. More than 10,000 farmers and labourers recorded their statements against the atrocities of the British in front of Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba Gandhi and Champaran Inquiry Committee in the premises of the historic Raj School in Bettiah on 16 July 1917 and 17 July 1917. On 20 November 1917, A school for Cleanliness and education was established in Bhitiharwa Ashram by the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi. Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi opened a school for education and cleanliness and Kasturba became a teacher. Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi, looking at the plight of the farmers and labourers of Champaran, jointly decided to open a school in Bettiah for girl education, cleanliness, untouchability, malnutrition, epidemic, child marriage and to get rid of many social evils. Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi asked for a little land from the villagers. But due to fear of Belwa Kothi’s English Manager AC Aiman, no farmer was ready to give land in the village. Then on Bapu’s request, Baba Ram Narayan Das of Bhitiharwa’s monastery provided land to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi for a school. On 16 November 1917, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi reached Bhitiharwa from the historical Hazarimal Dharamshala with Kasturba Gandhi and freedom fighters. Within 04 days, A thatched school was started. 80 children below 12 years were enrolled. Meanwhile, the news of the thatched school reached the English officer AC Aiman. The school was set on fire by AC Aiman’s people. Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi did not lose courage. Once again, the school was run in a brick-tiled house. Even today, the school run by Kasturba Gandhi in a live form has been converted into an ashram and museum by the Art Culture Department of the Bihar government. On this occasion, Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Advocate, Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal jointly demanded from the Government that Gandhi Vichar Department should be established in all the schools and universities of the country including Bihar so that people can understand the principle of truth, non-violence and mutual love propagated by Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi. This will be the true tribute by the government.
